In the multipurpose room of Biars-sur-Cère, this Thursday December 1, at the end of the afternoon, the volunteers of the Blood Donor Association were disappointed and the atmosphere gloomy. They had mobilized in large numbers to help the large number of medical personnel sent by the French Blood Institute who thought they were guaranteeing a generous blood donation. The results are not effective. Only 80 donors presented and 73 were sampled, including five new donors. Despite a significant increase compared to the collection of September 9, the figures are lower than what the EFS had hoped for for this collection, because in Occitania at least a thousand donations are needed every day in its territory! This fall, sadly, it’s not only in Biars that the result of the blood collection fails to meet the constant and essential needs of the sick… All those who came to donate their blood participated in an act of generosity, and the volunteers there he later thanked their donations, serving them a generous and invigorating snack.
The next blood drive in Biars-sur-Cère will take place on Tuesday 21 February 2023 from 2.30pm to 6.30pm in the multipurpose room.
