Visibly affected, Bianca and Raymond appear in front of the camera. They have asked if the couples would like to gather at the bingo hall in Zarra, a neutral location for telling this unexpected message. “I expect some will be understanding, but some would go through the roof,” says Bianca with tears in her eyes.
With a knot in his stomach, Raymond says he has a strong message. “We’re quitting the house,” he begins. He then lists everything that is wrong with the house. “It will cost twenty or thirty thousand euros to make the building beautiful again. Gradually this will cost sixty thousand euros,” says Raymond.
Raymond’s words go down the wrong way with the other candidates. “What is the real reason? You didn’t even give it a chance. You’ve only been there twice,” Jaap says irritated. Sabrina agrees: “You didn’t do anything!”
After accusations are flying back and forth, Matthew asks an interesting question. “Does that also mean that you are leaving the competition?” According to Bianca and Raymond, it is up to the council to make that decision. Sabrina does not find that a satisfactory answer. “Well, why don’t you just drop out of the competition?” Jaap: “Then what are you looking for here?”
The tension is palpable. Ultimately, Jaap, Jochem, Matthew and Sabrina walk away from the difficult conversation. Melissa and Bas are left behind in confusion. They understand the decision of the couple from Lochem.
It has all become too much for Bianca. She walks away crying. “This just isn’t worth it.” The chapter of the house is finally closed for Bianca and Raymond. The couple has handed in the key and Raymond is done with it. “The house could collapse.”
Bianca and Raymond remain committed to Zarra. With three couples still in the race, the house renovation and the battle for victory continues.
