jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Former Head of the International Relations Division (Hubinter) of the National Police Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte commented on the Glock 17 type firearm used by Bharada E during a shootout with Brigadier Nofryansah Yosua Hutabarat alias Brigadier J at Inspector General Ferdy Sambo’s house.
The gun designed by Austrian engineer Gaston Glock is said to be a weapon intended for Polri officers.
However, Bharada E who were still enlisted were suspected of using the lethal weapon to shoot Brigadier J.
According to Napoleon, every Polri weapon is recorded with its brand, number, and user. “There is a name written on it, it is attached to it everywhere, it is also taken to the bathroom,” said Napoleon at the South Jakarta District Court, Thursday (21/7).
The 1988 Police Academy (Akpol) alumnus confirmed that the police who were registered as holders of firearms belonged to Police you can’t leave it to someone else. “If that happens, it’s a serious violation,” he said.
Does the rank of a member of the National Police also affect the type of weapon used? “Yes, please,” said Napoleon.
The former secretary of NCB Interpol explained that the use of Polri’s weapons was regulated by the leaders of each unit. He gave an example that the use of weapons at the National Police Headquarters is regulated by the Security Intelligence Agency.
“Baintelkam can determine what rank authority uses what weapon,” said Napoleon.
