BFMTV launches a “vertical live” on its mobile app

Between supporters of the portrait format and fans of the landscape format, BFMTV did not want to choose. Or better yet, l’application of the all-info channel wants to please all users: if it is still possible to watch programs – in this case live – horizontally full pot or vertically in a thumbnail, the app offers now a third format, the “vertical direct”.

The image takes up the entire iPhone screen, but rather than settling for silly black bands above and below the video, BFMTV fills all the space. We can thus see the two presenters one above the other, or the presenter and the journalist in duplex, a full screen guest… And when there is nothing special to show, it is the background blue screen of the channel that occupies the place.

The function requires a bit of adjustment (see the screenshot of the weather forecast), the idea is pretty good and clever. This vertical “Live” was developed by Wildmoka, a French start-up, and it allows BFMTV to claim a leadership position in “digital” – the functionality is indeed a world first. If it does not appear on your iPhone, delete the application and then download it again: the option should appear.
