Beyond Good and Evil 2 fue one of the great absentees of E3 2021. And there are already several. Ubisoft’s most ambitious project, currently in development and no approximate release date, has been shown in an illustration showing the city of Ghent, Belgium, on the occasion of World UFO Day, held each year on July 2 to commemorate the so-called Roswell Incident of 1947, when an unidentified flying object hit a New Mexico ranch.
Both Ubisoft Belgium and Ubisoft Netherlands have published this illustration; not so the rest of the accounts of the company’s social network Twitter. In both cases, the Beyond Good and Evil 2 hashtag is accompanied. The image does not show in-game content of the video game; It also does not give clues or suggest the proximity of a new announcement, but it does rescue a name that Ubisoft fans want to know soon.
Beyond Good and Evil 2, somewhere in the Milky Way
Beyond Good and Evil 2, a prequel to the original 2003 video game, was presented in style at E3 2018 with the aim of feeling like a multiplayer adventure of action and exploration in the so-called System 3 from the milky way. It has been three years without news of the game, including the departure of Michel Ancel on the road, one of the main creative minds within the company.
Although it was initially presented during the generation of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it is expected that Ubisoft will reconsider its plans and see the light soon with its sights set on the already more than established current generation of machines (and PC), both PS5 and Xbox Series X | S. According to the company itself, the project “is progressing well” after the departure of Michel Ancel. Its brand was renewed last December, which dispels any hint of doubt about its possible cancellation.
Finally, it should be noted that Ubisoft Paris is working on the development of the game, which keeps the promise of offering new features sometime in the current year 2021. In parallel, the license will be recreated in a movie for Netflix led by the director of Detective Pikachu .
