The long-awaited sequel to Beyond Good and Evil has been in developer limbo for quite a few years now. The game’s development started already in 2007 but the game’s direction and plot have changed several times since then.
Now there are rumors that Ubisoft believes that the game “does not fit into Ubisoft’s ambitions and goals for their upcoming games” and that it is therefore only a matter of time before it will be discontinued. If that happens, it might not be entirely unexpected because the game was a bit of a passion project for game designer Michel Ancel. But he left the gaming industry a few years ago, it felt like there was no one left on Ubisoft who was willing to steer the ship anymore.
Ubisoft has not yet commented on these rumors.
