Beyond Fame: Exploring the Artistic Side of Celebrities

What do rock stars Bryan Adams and Peter Doherty, actress Meret Becker, fashion designer Harald Glööckler and Green Party politician Anton Hofreiter have in common? They all make art on the side.

Very few stars have seen the inside of an art academy, but they often live out their artistic creativity in several areas at the same time. This is exactly what the exhibition entitled “Beyond Fame. The Art of the Stars” is running. Everything visitors need to know.

When and where is the “Beyond Fame” exhibition running?

The exhibition in the Düsseldorf NRW Forum runs from August 18, 2023 to January 21, 2024.

Address: Ehrenhof 2, 40479 Düsseldorf.

Also interesting: The horror exhibition “Death and the Devil” is also running in the neighboring art palace until January and aims to introduce visitors to the fascination of horror through paintings, film clips and fashion, among other things.

What does the exhibition show, which stars are taking part?

Photos, paintings, videos and installations by 18 international and German celebrities from music, acting, politics and sport will be presented.

On display are works by the singer Tim Bendzko, the rappers Cro and Samy Deluxe, but also works by the former Wimbledon winner Michael Stich and the former national soccer player Josephine Henning.

Also taking part are Wolfgang Niedecken’s daughter Isis-Maria Niedecken and Jean-Remy von Matt, co-founder of the Hamburg agency Jung von Matt. The works of art allow a look behind the facade of the celebrity and sometimes also into the inner life of the celebrities.

Entry to the exhibition costs nine euros, reduced price six euros. Further information about the show and the accompanying program can be found on the website NRW-Forum Düsseldorf.
