/ world today news/ “At the end of last week, with a declaration of the PG of BSP LEFT BULGARIA, we stated our serious concern about the possibilities and the state’s handling of the refugee flow.
In addition to showing concern, we also showed a great deal of constructivism – by making specific proposals – that all the coordination activities of this process be personally undertaken by the Prime Minister, as well as that a special fund be created to collect all the funds, which are necessary to meet this grave challenge.”
This was stated by the deputy chairman of the PG of BSP LEFT BULGARIA Atanas Merdzhanov at a press conference at the party’s headquarters. He explained that the government’s multi-priority management program is expected to be adopted at a meeting of the Council of Ministers. “It is interesting whether a serious position and commitment of the government will be declared in this direction. Moreover, extraordinary foreign policy activity is needed to support and resolve this issue on the part of Deputy Prime Minister Kuneva,” added Merdzhanov. The People’s Representative emphasized that the three-year work of President Plevneliev and his team is to be reported. “It would be good if he also ruled on this extremely serious interest in the national security of the country,” he commented. According to him, there is already a clearly articulated tension in the border municipalities, difficulties faced by the local authorities and at the same time the intention of representatives of the State Agency for Refugees to build new camps. “We are not informed that this agency has new additional financial and personnel capacity. These questions must receive a clear answer so that we are not once again surprised, and unpleasantly so,” warned the spokesperson of the BSP.
Atanas Merdzhanov announced that the BSP is planning to hold a national forum-discussion on the problems of the refugee flow. He explained that the event will most likely be held on the territory of one of the border municipalities – Harmanli. “With this, we want to contribute to the comprehensive solution of all problems with the influx of refugees and their possible faster integration,” concluded Atanas Merdzhanov.
