Beyoncé’s Performance At Marseille’s Vélodrome Stadium: Highlights and Criticisms

Sunday June 11, 2023, singer Beyoncé stopped at the Vélodrome stadium in Marseille during her world tour Renaissance World Tour.

A look back at the atmosphere, the rain a few minutes before the show and even the acoustic problemshighlighted several times on social networks.

No matter the weather

The event was expected. Did it live up to expectations? Opinions vary. Present at the concert, Alexia had come especially from Ajaccio and was not disappointedas she explains to news Marseille.

“She really is the Queen!” she exclaims. ” She has braved the bad weather without saying anything “. Same story for Julie, present at the Vélodrome: “I am not disappointed, quite the contrary. she was amazing and in addition, she made the show in the rain”.

For my taste, some old songs were missing, but she made the show like no one else. And I haven’t noticed any problem with the sound.

Camille was also present. She was “very well placed” and had “no problems with the sound, but friends were disappointed”.

I saw it in Nice 4 years ago and this time there was more show, more staging. The logistics, the performance, the precise outfits: everything was incredible!

She saw it herself last year, during Jul’s concert which Camille had attended: some parts of the Vélodrome are not clearly not designed for concerts.

An atmosphere to review?

On social networks, some complain about the vibe. For OwlPhoenix, for example, “she was singing, we could hear the crickets”.

Chriis_Arn also regrets the atmosphere in the stands: “on the other hand, I’m not going to hide my face, the atmosphere in the stands made me a little messed up experience”.

Another account, MotRose, seems to lament that not everyone was a fan of the artist’s first hour.

“The two gows behind me who did not know the sounds in the pit (…) They left before the end and kept asking me if it was soon over”.

“She surpasses a lot of people”

In the end, if the sound could be debated, as well as the mixed atmosphere in the stands, all are however unanimous about the performance by Beyoncé.

Camille, always: “Having done a lot of concerts, I can say that Beyoncé surpasses a lot of people in terms of performance. It was incredible”.

Despite some negative points noted here and there, it is perhaps, ultimately, the most important.
