Beyoncé snubbed by Nation Music Awards; Beyhive vows revenge

The nation’s biggest night of music will be without one of the world’s biggest celebrities.

And as a result, the world is in shock.

On Monday, September 6, the Nation Music Association revealed the full list of nominees for the 58th Annual CMA Awards… with Morgan Wallen leading the pack with seven nominations in total.

And as for Beyoncé? She didn’t get a single one.

No. One. Just. One.

This closure is both galling and surprising because Beyoncé made a critically acclaimed leap forward by releasing her first national music album only recently.

It debuted at the top of the charts.

In March, the superstar explained the inspiration behind “Cowboy Carter,” saying the project “was born out of an experience I had years ago where I didn’t feel welcome.”

She then added:

“Thanks to that experience, I delved deeper into the history of nation music and studied our rich musical archive.

“It’s nice to see how music can bring so many people together around the world, while also amplifying the voices of some of the people who have dedicated so much of their lives to educating about our musical history.”

It’s safe to say that Beyoncé once again feels unwelcome within this genre.

Beyoncé’s latest album featured collaborations with national artists, from Malone and Shaboozey (who both received a pair of nominations today) to one of the genre’s pioneers, Linda Martell.

Following its release on March 29, “Cowboy Carter” rose to number one on the Billboard 200 and made Beyoncé the first black woman to top the Sizzling Nation Albums chart.

The artist also scored top 10 hits on the Billboard Sizzling 100 with the disco remake of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene,” as well as “II Most Needed” featuring Miley Cyrus.

“Thank you @Beyonce for opening a door, starting a conversation, and giving us one of the most groundbreaking nation albums of all time!” Shaboozey posted on social media after the nominations were announced.
