Notice to fans of Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay who says that the series has made her a much better person): TF1 is offering this Wednesday, January 20 from 11:05 p.m. a new episode of New York, special unit (which will soon see the return of Elliot Stabler). TF1 has given us such a habit of rebroadcasting episodes, especially on Mondays and Wednesdays in the second part of the evening, that for a bit, we would have missed out on a new plot never shown on French television. Admit it would be nerd!
A program of New York, special unit in spite of common sense
This is the problem with a series with such a long river (not so quiet though) as New York, special unit : as it is currently filming its 22nd season in New York, it provides an almost inexhaustible reservoir for the channels which acquire the broadcasting rights, in this case TF1 for France. Who can a Monday, like January 18, rebroadcast two episodes of season 17, interspersed with one of season 16, then the following Wednesday offer a new season 21 followed by reruns of seasons 20, 6 (and yes! ) then 17. Even if it means losing their Latin to television viewers who are fans of well-rounded police investigations.
Episodes of New York, special unit curly but also a little leafy
Certainly, with some exceptions, the series’ investigations are completed with each episode. And the private life of Olivia and others is little discussed, even if the heroine, for example, has become a mother and we see Noah, her adopted son, grow up over the years. If the episodes were broadcast in order of course … Above all, in 22 seasons, the teams of investigators but also the prosecutor’s office have changed a lot. Sometimes difficult to navigate, especially when, as recently, one of the cops becomes deputy prosecutor as for Carisi (Peter Scanavino). So according to the programming, we find him sometimes chasing sex criminals in the streets of Manhattan, sometimes in a court.
New York, special unit is rebroadcast to such an extent that the unpublished surveys, little put forward in addition it is true, finally go completely unnoticed. And that’s a shame ! The series which regularly does not hesitate to be inspired by real businesses, as well that of DSK as that of Weinstein, is certainly better than that.
