Suhl (dpa/th) – The Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) in southern Thuringia warns companies of a scam in which invoices are allegedly sent on behalf of the EU Commission. In the letters sent by post, companies would be asked to transfer an administration fee of more than 400 euros, the IHK announced on Tuesday. The bills are said to be sent on behalf of the EU Commission, the European Justice Portal or the Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers. It is about notifications with the payment request for the “establishment and linking of company data records”. The IHK advises affected companies to ignore the letters.
