Beware of Yescapa and Chapka: My Battle for Reimbursement

Bonjour,

Following a long battle with Yescapa/Chapka regarding a trip to Ireland last July which I had to cancel following my mother’s hospitalization, I had the “joy” of finally being reimbursed up to 30% of the trip (1251€).

I especially remember the insurer’s sentence:
“To summarize the situation: More than 30 days from the rental start date (your reason for cancellation occurs more than 30 days), what Chapka is supposed to reimburse you is: 30% of the owner’s share. We asked Yescapa and this sum is €248.91.
Chapka will therefore reimburse you this amount. The other 70% of this share would have been returned to you by Yescapa but as you had indicated your cancellation within 30 days, Yescapa does not reimburse you for anything and everything had to remain the responsibility of the insurance.”

Sorry but my mind was a little elsewhere when my mother was hospitalized. If I had known… damn it’s stupid.

I won’t dwell on the insults I want to throw but frankly…
Yescapa, it’s over. Chapka, I’m not even talking about it…

In short, be careful, because even if you provide everything you need, validated by insurance, they will do everything not to reimburse.
