Risks for humans and animals
The presence of these insects with stinging hairs and which can be dangerous for the health of humans and animals has been identified in several places in Luisant: rue des Ribouches, on the edge of the Bois des Ribouches, at the Orme de Sours cemetery, at the Parc de la Pléiade and at the Aristide Briand.
“A security perimeter has been set up around the trees where the tracks are at eye level and close to the ground,” specifies the City. And to add that an intervention to eradicate the processionary caterpillars is scheduled within the week by a specialized company.
