Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – North Atlantic Treaty Organization (BORN) has decided to increase aid to Ukraine, which is under attack from Russia. This is due to Moscow’s attack on the country which has paralyzed the energy infrastructure.
On Tuesday (11/29/2022), NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said Russia’s attack on energy infrastructure was a form of defeat. Also, the energy requirement increases as we enter winter
“Russian President Vladimir Putin is trying to use winter as a weapon of war,” he told reporters as NATO foreign ministers met in Bucharest. Reuters.
“I think we’ve all seen these satellite images where you see Europe lit up and then Ukraine dark…so reconstructing all of that is a huge task,” he stressed.
Next, NATO foreign ministers will focus on increasing military assistance to Ukraine, such as air defense systems and munitions. They will also discuss non-arms assistance to Kiev.
“Some of this non-lethal assistance, items such as fuel, medical supplies, winter gear and drone jamming, have already been sent through NATO aid packages that Allies can contribute and which they are looking to scale up,” Stoltenberg added.
Stoltenberg’s comments were echoed by several ministers of the 30-nation alliance. Including Finland and Sweden awaiting approval of their entry applications from Turkey and Hungary.
