Beware of nutritional myths that promise prevention and miracle cures for covid-19 | Univision Salud News

Balanced nutrition is very important for immune health. The concern about staying healthy and strengthening immune health to prevent covid-19 infection is valid. In times of uncertainty and when doctors and public health officials do not have the capacity to offer us a vaccine to prevent the coronavirus and pharmaceutical treatment to heal the infection, it is understandable to want to look for some alternative way to avoid the disease.

But during this pandemic, it is more important than ever to be careful about the health information we create and the health and nutrition practices we adopt. There is a lot of false information spreading on social media about miracle cures to prevent and heal covid-19. There is no product or medicine that currently offers prevention or a miracle cure for covid-19 infection.

We present you some of the myths and misinformation about false miracle cures that are propagated on social networks by influencers who do not have medical, nutritional and public health training and by companies that sell false promises of protection against covid-19.
