A mosquito-borne disease
West Nile virus infection is a viral disease transmitted by mosquitoes that become infected solely through contact with infected birds.
There is no human-to-human transmission, no human-to-human transmission of the virus through the mosquito.
Sudden fever and headache and back pain are the main symptoms, but also swollen neck glands or skin rashes.
If you experience symptoms, contact your doctor immediately.
