Hamm – On its website, Bergader Privatkäserei GmbH writes about its soft cheese “Bavaria blu” that the best alpine milk is processed from a region where many people like to vacation. Enjoying the cheese is said to evoke images of an idyllic Bavarian Alpine panorama. But consumers cannot go on this culinary excursion without any worries at the moment: Bergader has now announced a recall. The “Bavaria blu” variety “Der Würzige” in the 300g pack is affected.
Nationwide recall: Listeria found in “Bavaria blu” soft cheese
The company reports that listeria was detected in a sample during an internal check. This could not be confirmed when checking the end product. Nevertheless, contamination with Listeria cannot be ruled out.
Bergader warns customers against consuming the product “Bavaria blu Der Würzige” in the 300g pack. The cheese was sold throughout Germany and in Austria. The exact designation of the affected product:

There are good reasons why consumers are urgently advised against consuming the affected “Bavaria blu” soft cheese. Listeria can cause nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. After an incubation period of up to three weeks, symptoms resembling those of a flu-like effect can even appear.
