JAKARTA, KOMPAS — Systemic fungal infections or mucormycosis in Covid-19 patients that cause black tissue abnormalities need to be watched out for. Patients infected with this fungus are at risk for more severe complications and are at high risk.
Chairperson of the Center for Pulmonary Mycosis, Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia-Friendly Hospital (FKUI-Persahabatan Hospital) Anna Rozaliyani said vigilance over the potential for mucormycosis infection in Covid-19 patients emerged after reports of a spike in cases in India.
