Kuwait City: Authorities have warned not to respond to fake phone calls coming in the name of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior. Every day many people receive fake phone calls and messages claiming to be Kuwaiti security officials. The fraudsters’ method is to ask for personal information, claiming that they are updating the data. Many people have been duped into paying into the accounts provided by them, pretending to be from the official center.
The General Administration of Security Relations and Media of the Ministry of Home Affairs has warned to be cautious against such fake phone messages. Do not respond to suspicious phone calls or messages. Never ask for the public’s personal information over the phone. Officials have requested to inform the concerned authorities immediately upon receiving such phone calls.
Earlier, the Ministry of Home Affairs had warned against various scams being done through social media. Even though awareness is being held among citizens and residents under the leadership of government agencies, the group is active with new forms of fraud every day.
