WARTAKOTALIVE.COM, BEKASI – Health Service Bekasi city recorded as many as 730 cases of spreading Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) were found in the region during the last four months from January to April 2021.
“Yes, as many as 730 cases were found from January to April, because as is well known, the spread of dengue usually occurs in the early months of the year such as January,” said the Head of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) of the Health Office. Bekasi city Dezy Syukrawati recently.
Although lower than the same period last year which reached 900 cases, residents are asked to remain vigilant about the spread of dengue.
Dezy explained, due to the change of the rainy season to the dry season last April, the spread of the dengue fever was only detected.
“Now there has been a shift in the seasons, so it is only detected that the dengue fever spread is relatively high in the fourth month of 2021,” he said.
However, Dezy said that this year’s prevalence rate of dengue fever was quite low, compared to the previous year, namely in 2020 in the same period.
“We see the spread of dengue cases in Bekasi City in 2020 for the same period, which is around 900 cases,” he added.

Therefore, his party did not call this an extraordinary event (KLB). Because the numbers are still below in 2020.
However, continued Dezy, his party has increased its vigilance regarding this DHF.
“We are vigilant, the jumantik team and the mothers of our health centers continue to move in an effort to deal with dengue. One way is to eradicate mosquito nests,” he said.
Dezy also appealed to the public to Bekasi city can anticipate the spread of DHF, with the 3M implementation process, namely Draining, Closing and Burying in their area.
Because, to anticipate the spread of dengue cases, it is not only carried out by the government, but the community must also participate in preventing it.
“For example, if the people want to prevent the spread of dengue, it won’t be too difficult. But if the people only rely on the local government to anticipate, I don’t think it will run optimally for the implementation process,” he explained.
