YOGYAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV– Cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) are starting to target the people of Bantul. It was recorded that there were 242 cases of dengue fever in Bantul from January to March 2022.
According to the Head of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) of the Bantul Health Office, Sri Wahyu Joko Santoso, the most dengue cases occurred in January 2022 as many as 159 cases, February 2022 as many as 68 cases, and March 2022 as many as 15 cases.
“We should be grateful, as of March, no patient has died of dengue,” he said, Thursday (24/3/2022).

He assessed that the death rate due to DHF could be reduced because the Bantul Health Office was optimizing services. The community is always asked to periodically clean mosquito nests to prevent dengue.
“Prevention of dengue is more about eradicating mosquito nests (PSN) and awareness to carry out the one house one jumantik movement (later monitor),” he said.
He revealed that the number of dengue cases in Bantul in 2022 could not be compared to the previous year. During 2021, there were 410 cases of DHF with one person dying in Bantul.

He did not deny, the current case of dengue fever is mostly closed with Covid-19 cases. Therefore, the public is still interested in being vigilant and not relaxing the PSN to prevent DHF.
