KENDARI, TELISIK.ID – In the midst of high rainfall, various diseases and health problems often appear. One of them is increasing cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF).
This was conveyed by the Head of the Kendari City Health Office, drg Rahminingrum. According to him, as of December 31, 2021, there were 200 positive cases of dengue fever in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi.
As a determinant of operational policies in the health sector, Rahminingrum said that his party had made various efforts in handling dengue cases.
A series of efforts have been made by Puskesmas-Puskesmas to break the spread of dengue cases in Kendari City, starting from socialization to fogging or fogging in the environment indicated by the Aedes Aegypti mosquito.
DHF is a disease caused by the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito. To identify quickly, it is mandatory to know the symptoms of dengue fever in children in general.
This disease is often found in children who are prone to dengue fever. So it takes various efforts to take care of children, especially by knowing the symptoms when the child is infected with DHF.

- High fever between 3 to 14 days after being bitten by the mosquito.
- The child has a headache and nausea.
- A red rash appears on the child’s skin.
- The child complains of muscle pain and aches all over his body.
- The lymph nodes are swollen.

When dengue fever persists, it does not mean the disease is over. There are other symptoms that appear between 1 to 2 days of decreasing fever. Are as follows:
- The appearance of abdominal pain or pain.
- Experiencing persistent vomiting.
- The child’s gums bleed for no reason.
- Children look restless, irritable, and easily offended.
- There was a nosebleed.
- Changes in body temperature, from very high to very low.
