Government United States of America again appealed to residents and settlers to wear face mask to prevent infection corona virus (Covid-19) varian Delta.
The appeal is also intended for those who have received one or two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
The policy was conveyed by the US Centers for Infectious Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) due to the increase in cases of Covid-19 infection which was allegedly caused by the spread of the Delta variant of the corona virus.
Reported Associated Press, Wednesday (28/7), the CDC asked teaching staff, students and guests at schools to wear masks without exception even if the person has been vaccinated.
Cases of COVID-19 in the United States have soared again, especially in the south. This makes the hospital’s capacity slowly return to full with corona virus patients.
City Government of Los Angeles and St. Louis had already re-implemented the obligation to wear masks due to the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases.
Currently, the number of COVID-19 cases in the US has increased by an average of 57,000 people per day. A total of 24,000 patients of whom were hospitalized.
Most of the new cases of COVID-19 infection in the US have occurred among residents who have not been vaccinated.
According to the CDC Director, dr. Rochelle Walensky, advised to wear a mask because the Delta variant virus is more virulent and spreads quickly.
“This situation is very concerning and we must act,” said Rochelle.
Rochelle said the CDC also found that people who had been vaccinated could still catch the Delta variant of the coronavirus. However, the symptoms felt for those who are infected even though they have been vaccinated are relatively mild.
Chief Advisor to the US President on Health, dr. Anthony Fauci, said the handling of Covid-19 in his country was going in the wrong direction following the surge in corona virus infections.
Meanwhile, according to US President, Joe Biden, the policy of wearing masks again is a wise way so that they do not have to do a regional lockdown.lockdown) which has an impact on the economy of the population.
