The Honda WR-V has been on the floor in Indonesia since last November 2022. Are you curious about the score of the Honda WR-V after the crash test?
Interestingly, this car, which is a competitor of Toyota Raize to Daihatsu Rocky in the small SUV class, has already undergone a crash test in the ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asia) program on January 20, 2023.
The Honda WR-V went through a series of crash tests from the front to the side. Testing also includes questioning safety features. As a result, the tiny SUV made in Karawang, West Java won a 5-Star ASEAN NCAP rating with an accumulated score of 77.07 points. The car tested was the WR-V RS with Honda Sensing.
If broken down, this small SUV won 34.26 points (maximum score of 40) for the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) category, then 16.78 (maximum score of 20) for Child Occupant Protection (COP), a score of 15.58 (out of a maximum of 20) for Safety Assist Technologies (SATs). ) and 10.45 (out of a maximum of 20) for Motorcyclist Safety (MS).
ASEAN NCAP said the WR-V, which is below one level from the HR-V, has good safety features. Because the WR-V is equipped with standard equipment with 4 airbags, moreover the Honda WR-V RS with Honda Sensing is offered with 6 airbags.
This 5-seater SUV is also equipped with standard features such as Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Seatbelt Reminder System (SBR) for front passengers and Pedestrian Protection technology in all its variants.
This SUV offers technology as standard or optional equipment in all variants, namely Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) City, AEB Inter-Urban, AEB Pedestrian, Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Child Presence Detection (CPD).
In addition, other safety assistance technologies that are equipped with the WR-V, both standard and optional equipment, which are assessed in the motorcycle safety category are Blind Spot Visualization (BSV) on the passenger side of the vehicle, Auto High Beam (AHB) and AEB for Motorcycles.
“Congratulations to the Honda team for not only ensuring the safety of their passengers, but also taking the initiative to include additional safety features to avoid collisions with other road users, namely BSV, AHB and AEB for Motorcycle. Especially with the inclusion of CPD technology embedded in the vehicle, this compact SUV it is indeed suitable to be the first car for a new family. With this technology, incidents such as children accidentally left in the car can be avoided,” said the ASEAN NCAP statement quoted Friday, (20/1/2023).
For information, ASEAN NCAP is an assessment program for new cars in Southeast Asia. The crash test that was carried out was a form of collaboration between ASEAN NCAP and the Japan Automobile Research Institute (JARI). In general, testing should be carried out after the mass production of the model has started.
For example, the Frontal Offset Impact Test was carried out using crash test dummies in the driver and front passenger seats and two child dolls on the Child Restraint System (CRS) in the back seat. The crash test speed was 64 km/h when it hit a crash barrier made of collapsible aluminum.
In addition, a Side Impact Test was also carried out, carried out by installing a crash test dummy in the driver’s seat and two child dolls in the Child Restraint System (CRS) in the back seat. MDB (Moving Deformable Barrier) approached the situationally tested car. The test speed is 50 km/h.
Honda often gets the title of the highest level of safety from ASEAN NCAP, namely All New Honda HR-V and All New Honda BR-V in September 2022 and Honda CR-V in 2017.
“The achievements of the Honda WR-V demonstrate Honda’s commitment to the safety of its users and realize its vision of creating a safer environment for drivers, passengers and other road users,” said Yusak Billy, Business Innovation and Sales Marketing Director of PT Honda Prospect Motor.
