Beware of a Big Scam! Hackers Target WhatsApp Accounts in UAE

Abu Dhabi: Warning that there is a big scam going on by hacking WhatsApp accounts in the UAE. Several people’s accounts have been hacked in the last few hours. Officials also warned to be cautious even when clicking on links coming from the accounts of acquaintances.

Hackers are also leaking information through fake links from acquaintances’ numbers to add to groups. Dubai Digital officials have warned that such incidents are increasingly being reported in the last few hours. Hackers who take control of WhatsApp through such links are doing fraud by stealing bank card information and other things.

Dubai Digital cautions to watch out for any suspicious activity. If you notice that your WhatsApp account has been hacked, you should report it to support@whatsapp.com. The TDRA also suggests handing over the number used for WhatsApp and asking for deactivation of the account.

The WhatsApp application has to be uninstalled and reinstalled from the mobile several times. Try to reinstall several times a day. Inform relatives and friends about hacked WhatsApp account. The TDRA has warned them not to respond to messages from his number.
