Beware of 6 diseases during the rainy season, from typhus to rat urine

KOMPAS.com- Most of the region Indonesia already entered the period rainy season 2020-2021 since the last month of October 2020. Not only the potential for disaster, but several disease the rainy season must also be watched out for.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said that this new rainy season will enter its peak in January 2021.

Along with the rainy season period, apart from being alert to potential hydrometeorological disasters such as landslides, floods, flash floods and so on, various disease also keep lurking.

Here are a few disease in the rainy season which must be watched out because it is most often experienced by Indonesians.

1. Typhoid fever ( types)

Typhoid fever or commonly referred to as typhus is an infectious infection caused by bacteria Salmonella thyphii or Salmonella paratyphii.

Leptospirosis or rat urine disease is a disease caused by spiral-shaped bacteria called Leptospira interrogans.

Apart from mice, it is the most infectious animal leptospirosis are cows, pigs, dogs, reptiles, and amphibians, and other rodents. The symptoms of rat urine disease are as follows.

In fact, in certain cases rat urine disease which occurs a lot in the rainy season, can cause liver problems, kidney failure, meningitis and respiratory failure.
