VIVA – Bath rain often so things that are considered fun and interesting for children. No wonder when it rains, it is often a tempting playtime for children. However, in many situations, playing in the rain is also not recommended because the bad effects of rain, especially in the event of a flood, not only cause natural disasters but also become a medium for the spread of various diseases.
Floods have a medium to long term impact on health, one of which is increasing water and vector borne disease transmission.
Presented by Pediatrician, Sub-Specialization of Tropical Infectious Diseases and the Central Board of the Indonesian Pediatrician Association, Dr. Nina Dwi Putri, SpA(K), MSc (TropPaed), through a release received by VIVA said, there are several modes of transmission caused by rain and flooding.

Some diseases can be transmitted through contaminated water and the hygiene of the living environment which can be worsened by rain or flooding. The Coordinating Work Unit for Infections and Tropical Diseases of the Indonesian Pediatrician Association provides a list of diseases that can affect children during rainy season.
1. Dengue

Stagnant water can be used as a breeding ground for mosquitoes and has the potential to increase exposure to dengue infection. Dengue virus infection is a common disease that attacks children and adults in the rainy season. It happens in the tropics. Symptoms of dengue fever include rash, high fever, and others.
