Beware Hoax! Covid-19 Vaccination Doesn’t Cause New Variants

JAKARTA Covid-19 Vaccination believed to cause new variant and could avoid the antibodies created by the global vaccination push. However, the news is not true alias hoax .

As is known, currently there are a lot of mutations corona virus in this world. Viruses have properties like other living things. They will evolve to survive.

Their main function is to make themselves more difficult to eradicate. Now World Health Organization (WHO) there are several variants that fall into the category.

The variant of concern (VOC) category is Alpha (B117 and B117+E484K), Beta (B1351), Gamma (P.1), Delta (B16172). Meanwhile, the variants of interest (VOI) consist of Eta (B1525), Epsilon (B1427 and B1429), Theta (P3 and B1616), Kappa (B16171, B1620, and B1621).

The latest is a mutation of the corona virus named Lambda from Peru which is currently disrupting the South American region. So is it true that vaccination encourages the creation of a new variant of Covid-19?

Summarizing from the official Instagram of the Committee for the Acceleration of Covid-19 and National Economic Recovery (KPCPEN), @lawancovid19_id Friday (18/6), confirming that this statement is wrong. KPCPEN also tried to provide an explanation regarding this matter.

Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Iowa, dr. Stanley Perlman, explained that the new variant of Covid-19 occurs because of a mutation, and is not caused by vaccination. There is no evidence the vaccine causes the new variant of Covid-19.

When a person is vaccinated, they are less likely to catch and transmit the virus, and are therefore less likely to catch and transmit the Covid-19 virus variant. Therefore, the public is advised not to be afraid and panic and must sort out the information carefully.
