[김소형의 힐링타임] Drinking the wrong amount of water can cause swelling and coldness.
In addition to favorite foods such as alcohol or cigarettes, you can easily become addicted to food as well. There are many stories of people developing health problems due to addiction to spicy foods, sweet foods, flour, etc. But what if we become addicted to the water we eat on a daily basis and that is essential for survival as a component of our bodies? In fact, even water can cause serious poisoning depending on your health condition and how you drink it.
Water intoxication is when the concentration of sodium, which should be maintained in balance in the body, suddenly drops by drinking excessive water, causing vomiting and convulsions. Drinking excessive amounts of water can be problematic, and in severe cases, it can even cause cerebral edema. In Oriental medicine, when water becomes poison, it is called ‘susok’. When water flows into the body to a level that the body cannot handle, it eventually acts as a poison in the body like unnecessary waste and causes problems throughout the body.
Even if a serious problem does not occur, various problems may continue to appear if the number of readings accumulates. First, if you have Sudok, your weight changes significantly from morning to evening. Even though I didn’t eat a lot of food, I felt a change in my weight of about 3 to 4 kilos. Second, even if you sleep a lot and rest well, fatigue does not go away easily. Third, even if you are in a warm place, your hands and feet always feel cold. Fourth, the swelling of the lower body is so severe that it feels like shoes or pants are tight in the evening. Fifth, I habitually binge eat. Sixth, when you press around the ankle bone on the inside of the ankle, you feel severe pain. If two or more of the six items are met, it can be judged as read.
If you have water poisoning, using herbal water, which helps excrete unnecessary toxic substances, can be effective in controlling the symptoms of water poisoning. The ingredients of herbal water are kelp and ginger. The cold nature of kelp and the hot nature of ginger are harmoniously balanced and help purify the body.

Kelp is rich in high-quality dietary fiber such as alginic acid, which promotes digestion and helps promote the discharge of various toxic waste products from the body, including constipation. Good ingredients such as alginic acid in kelp are highly soluble in water, but the more you cut them into smaller pieces, the higher the absorption rate of the good ingredients. In the case of ginger, it is an herb with various effects such as antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant. It helps blood circulation, and like kelp, it promotes waste discharge and is good for treating water poisoning. Prepare equal amounts of well-dried kelp and ginger, steep them in boiling water, and drink 1 to 2 cups a day.
When moisture stagnates and body fatigue does not go away with sudok, it is also helpful to do gymnastics in the morning and evening. The ‘capillary’ exercise is an exercise that anyone can easily follow, and you can see the results in just 10 minutes. It is effective if you do it right after getting out of bed in the morning. Lie comfortably on the floor and lift your arms and legs toward the sky so that they are perpendicular to the floor. In that state, apply vibration for about 2 minutes and move your limbs as if they are shaking. Then pause for about 10 seconds and then gently place it on the floor. Be careful not to place your limbs on the floor with any force. Repeating this movement improves blood circulation throughout the body, helps warm up cold hands and feet due to water poisoning, and improves lower body swelling.
Drinking too much water can make you sick, and drinking too much water at once can poison your body. Therefore, if you care about your health, you should not drink water in excess or in a hurry.
