Health expert Sue Cotey says that drastic weight loss without any changes to your diet or exercise routine could be a sign of it diabetes.
Why diabetes trigger weight loss?
Insulin is a hormone that allows the body to use glucose (sugar) for energy.
In people with type 2 diabetes, the body cannot use insulin effectively and cannot transport glucose to the body’s cells.

As a result, glucose will accumulate in the blood.
“When glucose is not being processed by cells, the body will signal hunger and burn fat from the muscles to create energy,” says Cotey.
This condition causes drastic weight loss.
The buildup of sugar in the blood makes the kidneys work extra hard, causing damage.
