The City Council of Betxí has put out to tender for another year the asphalting of rural roads and the improvements of some points of the pavement of the urban area of the municipality. The budget this year is 250,000 euros; Added to last year’s historical figure of 350,000 euros and what was invested in the previous two years, the figure in this item is close to one million euros since the beginning of the last legislature.
The plan for this year is to pave the Camí de Sant Antoni, complete the Camí del Solaig that began last year and pave the streets of Barranc, Dolors and Sant Josep.
In this way, the council maintains its commitment to continue improving the old town and give priority to people ahead of vehicles. In addition, it extends and improves the paved rural area in a town with a strong agrarian tradition.
In recent years, the budget for paving roads and streets has been increasing, reaching a record figure of 350,000 euros in 2021, thanks in part to European funds and the municipal surplus. In this sense, the mayor of the municipality Alfred Remolar has indicated that “we are aware of the importance of these roads for the neighborhood and with these projects we intend to improve the quality of work of our farmers.”
