The Ministry of Health announced that, between Tuesday, June 29 and Saturday, July 3, Ecuador will receive 2’108,810 doses of vaccines against COVID-19 from two pharmaceutical companies.
These shipments will be from Pfizer, of which 108,810 doses will be received, and from Sinovac, which will send two million.
According to a statement from that state portfolio, six million doses of Sinovac are scheduled. It was also explained that it negotiated with the Chinese Government the increase in the volume of doses, due to a delay by the pharmaceutical company CanSino due to a failure in its production line.
Until last week, Ecuador had received 5’126,279 doses corresponding to three pharmaceutical companies:
Pfizer: 1′536.279
Sinovac: 2′220.000
AstraZeneca: 1′370.000
With these new shipments, the total that Ecuador will receive will be 7′235,089. So far, 3’991.635 doses have been placed (2’680.072 correspond to the first dose and 1’311.563 to second doses). (I)
