Between Antiseptic and Disinfectant, Which Is More Effective in Eliminating Corona Virus?

Antiseptics and disinfectants both kill microorganisms, and many people use the terms interchangeably. To add to the confusion, antiseptics are sometimes referred to as skin disinfectants.

But there is a big difference between antiseptic and disinfectant. Antiseptics are applied to the body, while disinfectants are applied to inanimate surfaces or objects, such as tables and door handles. In a surgical setting, for example, doctors will apply an antiseptic to surgical sites on a person’s body and use a disinfectant to sterilize the operating table.

Antiseptics and disinfectants contain chemicals that are sometimes called biocides. Hydrogen peroxide is an example of a common ingredient in antiseptics and disinfectants. However, antiseptics usually contain a lower concentration of biocides than disinfectants.

So what distinguishes between antiseptics and disinfectants is only where we apply them. And it can be seen clearly that disinfectants are more dangerous than antiseptics. The chemical content in the disinfectant liquid is made in such a way as to sterilize an object from bacteria or germs. Disinfectant fluids are also not recommended for use on skin, but antiseptic.
