The four major health insurers have announced premiums for basic insurance. Per month, people will pay between 3.75 and 9.30 euros more for the most common insurance. The premiums are therefore between 138.25 and 141.95 euros per month.
Insurers say premiums need to go up due to rising wages and higher costs. And aging also plays a role. Older people generally need more care than younger people.

Significantly higher health benefits
Incidentally, the maximum health care allowance will increase significantly next year by around 35 euros per month to 154 euros. The government is doing this to support the purchasing power of low-income groups in particular.
In 2022, singles with an income of up to 22,000 euros will receive the maximum amount. He is running then take a step back. From an income of 32,000 or more you will not receive a supplement. The government has yet to announce exact income caps for 2023, but they will be comparable.
What else changes?
From 2023, health insurance companies will no longer be able to grant a group discount on basic insurance. The idea behind this was once that the health insurer could give a discount if a whole group signs up.
But the government wanted to get rid of them. “The premium is first raised for everyone and then a certain group of policyholders gets it back as if it were a discount. For example, one group of policyholders pays another group’s discount,” the then cabinet said when announcing the abolition in 2020.
In that year the maximum discount had already been reduced from 10 to 5 percent. Next year it will be completely abolished. The deductible will not change next year and will remain at 385 euros. He’s been on that amount since 2016.
