Better working conditions required at Canimex in Drummondville

These workers affiliated with the Central of Democratic Trade Unions (CSD) now refuse overtime. The trailers therefore accumulate behind the facilities of the component manufacturing company, located on Saint-Georges Street in Drummondville.

The president of the union, Marc Morin, denounces the slowness of the employer to submit its offers. We have to manage to keep our people here. There are employees that it costs them $100 more per week for groceries. How do you want [y arriver] with our salary?asks Marc Morin.

« An employee who comes here [gagne] $19.75 per hour. Find me a factory in Drummondville that gives that, apart from Walmart and McDonald’s. There are not a lot. »

For his part, the vice-president of human resources at Canimex, Michel Goulet, deplores this union outing.

According to Michel Goulet, the company intends to resolve the situation and submit a serious offer during a meeting scheduled for June 14.
