The autumn holidays are just around the corner, so many Belgians are packing their bags for the sun. What is the corona situation like in the most popular holiday destinations, and how is it going in our neighboring countries? We list the number of infections per country and found out which measures are in force for you.
–
In comparison: in the 14-day period from 7 to 21 October, Belgium had 325 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants. In the meantime, that incidence has risen to 543 infections per 100,000 inhabitants (from October 18 to 24). Virologist Steven Van Gucht puts it this way: “There is more virus circulating here than in the southern countries. They may be more afraid of us there than we are of them.” He therefore does not expect the infection rates to rise spectacularly soon as a result of our travel behaviour.
