Betta Fish Are Trained to Play Streaming Games, Even Accidentally Broadcast Owner’s Credit Card Info

TOKYO, KOMPAS.com – A Japanese YouTuber made a special arrangement allowing his pet fish to play Pokemon on his Nintendo Switch.

But that was the start of the disaster. The fish instead spent money on the eShop and revealed the owner’s credit card information on the live stream.

YouTuber Mutekimaru alias Maurice, runs a channel on the video sharing website.

There, the fish play various games in the Pokemon franchise.

As reported by UPIthe betta fish controls the game by swimming to different areas of his tank.

The aquarium itself has been equipped with sensors that simulate button presses on Maurice’s Nintendo Switch.

Maurice set up the system to live stream fish playing Pokemon Violet, the newest game in the series.

But a crash during gameplay causes the Nintendo Switch to return to the home screen.

From the home screen, the movement of the fish causes the Nintendo eShop to open and the pet spends $4 of its owner’s money to buy points.

The fish also revealed Maurice’s credit card information on the live stream.
