Bethesda’s Latest Skyrim Update: Fans Call for a Halt

Skyrim fans are holding their breath after Bethesda announced another update to its most popular RPG.

Let’s remember that in December Bethesda released a new update for Skyrim, which combined various paid and free content in a single menu called Creations. Many saw this as another attempt to force paid mods, and to make matters worse, players discovered that after the update, many old mods no longer worked correctly. Now another patch announcedwhich aims to fix problems with Creations.

Given the problems caused by the latest update, fans are not eager to welcome the new patch and many are calling on Bethesda to leave Skyrim alone.

“I haven’t updated my mod list to version 1.6.1130 yet,” writes user Profanitizer on the Skyrim Mods subreddit.

Dora_I comments: “Another update? Seriously? Just leave Skyrim alone.”

DingoOfTheWicked adds: “It would seem that they should have given up on this ancient game, but no – they keep releasing updates. Rest in peace, beauty in the modlists.”

One way to avoid problems when using mods is to simply disable updates for Skyrim. This seems to be the approach many players have taken.

Gwynedhel writes: “I still haven’t installed the latest update. I’ve been playing through the same save since November, so the update will ruin my game.” Gamer Romatebitegel adds: “I’m still on version 1.5.97 and completely happy with it.”

However, since the new patch is supposed to solve a limited number of remaining problems and not introduce large-scale changes, it is likely that it will not cause such a level of chaos. We’ll find out soon.
