Released in September, sci-fi RPG Starfield, despite an influx of free updates and patch packs, currently has to Steam settle for an average rating of 69%, placing the game in the “Mixed” category. Bethesda’s customer support seems to be trying to mitigate the influx of negative reviews. It started recently be more responsive to userswho added a negative review on Steam.
A user with a nickname drew attention to this trend among the first on Twitter JuiceHead, who immediately attached several answers from Bethesda. Reactions to user ratings and comments are not unusual, especially for the authors of smaller indie games. However, for big AAA games, at least on Steam it is definitely not the rule.
However, some users pauses over the wording of some arguments, which can seem generic, while the impressions and individual criticized features of the game are rather tried to be refuted and Starfield is perhaps defended a little too vehemently in the aggregate. The real question is what Bethesda expects from this “communication” with players.
Bethesda is responding to negative Starfield reviews on Steam. Absolutely bizarre if you ask me and despite media attention this hasn’t stopped, the last response is from today pic.twitter.com/ay589tg8cc
