Whether you’re a Fallout 76 veteran or new to the game, there’s a new area to explore if you own a copy on Steam. Bethesda has opened a new Public Test Server (PTS) to collect feedback on the new Skyline Valley area.
Skyline Valley is based on the actual Shenandoah Valley, which is located in Virginia, just east of the West Virginia border. This is a completely new area to explore in the MMORPG, and it includes a new public event called “Dangerous Fun” that happens every 20 minutes.
The idea is that you support a group of hunters to get close to the savage noose while protecting them from the effects of weather, enemies, and some of the alleged wildlife in the area.
Bethesda has also said that it is interested in getting players into a new area while the PTS is active.
Maybe something will happen, maybe nothing. Probably nothing…right?
The PTS will also test a series of updates to Fallout 76’s combat system, which are expected to be rolled out over several patches. On the PTS they start with changes for different mobs. More updates are planned for other creatures, weapons and more.
The team says they’ve also made improvements to the way damage reduction is calculated, which should lead to significant improvements to shotguns and rifles, especially against larger enemies.
To connect, find the Fallout 76 public test server in your Steam library and install it.
