Howard also points out that the studio got the multiplayer experiment of Fallout 76 an expansion that focuses on single-player. He says that the number of people who want to play the game as a single player is very large.

“With Fallout 76, at some point we added Wastelanders and single player quests. The number of people who want to play it as a solo experience is very, very large.”

Social elements in single player games
Although the focus is on single player, Howard does believe that there can be interaction between multiple players in a single player game. The studio will experiment more with “social elements” in the future, but wants to keep the focus of a solo experience. Howard didn’t go into detail about what these social elements might be, but the idea has been played around a bit.
