Bethesda announced last week that the “next-gen” updates for Fallout 4 he was finally on his way. These are updating the game for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, which has caused problems for the Fallout: London fan project.
The big change Fallout 4 – where you will experience a post-apocalypse in the capital of England – was launched on April 23. With Bethesda’s official update now arriving just two days later, the modding team has decided to delay Fallout: London.
In a video – which you can see above – Folon Team leader Dean Carter explains that the update has created a lot of confusion. The team behind the mod does not know if everything will work when Fallout 4 is updated.
– We’ve only been tweaking and testing to make things as stable as possible for you before launch. But now that the new update is rolling out just 48 hours later, the last four years of work we’ve put in might not work.
Fallout: London brings Bethesda’s post-apocalypse to the UK.
Fallout: London uses a so-called Script Extender, a tool that allows for much more advanced changes. It’s this tool that could take a hit when Bethesda updates Fallout 4, at which point modders will have to run new rounds of tests to make sure everything is compatible with the version new of the game.
It is not known how long this will take. So the Fallout: London team has postponed the release forever, but they promise to release it as soon as everything is ready.
Another challenge for Fallout: London has been as big as the mod. At somewhere between 30 and 40 GB, it is too big for what Nexus Mods allows. So the creators have teamed up with GOG, which will provide the mod for download for players who have Fallout 4 on GOG, Steam and possibly Epic Games as well.
Gamers are returning to the Fallout games.
