The neighbors and neighbors of Bétera they have again, like every month, a solidarity appointment this June. This time it will be today, Friday, July 15. The municipal department of Health of Bétera has organized a new day of blood donation. This will be the seventh day of blood donation of the year in the town.
From this department neighbors and neighbors are invited to donate blood to save numerous lives. Each person has in his hand to help save a life with the simple gesture of giving blood.
Once again, this time Casa Nebot (C/Estació, 5) has been enabled again to carry out the next blood donation in the population.
This blood donation will take place in the afternoon, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and you only have to meet a few requirements.
Unlike a blood test, when we make a donation it is not necessary to go fasting. It is even advisable to have eaten prior to the donation.
Both for the safety of the donor and the recipient, a medical history and a series of tests are carried out. After the donation the blood is tested.
You can donate blood:
- If you are between 18 and 65 years old and weigh more than 50 kilos.
- Even if you have suffered from hepatitis before the age of 12.
- Even if you are not fasting.
- Even if you have high cholesterol.
- Even if you take some of the most frequently used medications.
You can donate up to 3 times every 12 months if you are a woman and up to 4 if you are a man. As long as the interval between donations is greater than 8 weeks.
The first step to assess whether a blood donation can be made is to answer a questionnaire aimed at detecting any possible risk factor. The questions in this document are determined by law and their objective is to ensure the safety of the donor and the future recipient.
The doctor responsible for the extraction is the one who will ultimately decide whether or not it should be performed.
