Well-deserved, certain and most importantly, the fourth in a row! In the 9th round of Betclic 1. Liga, ŁKS players defeated Pogoń Siedlce 2:0 after goals by Stefan Feiertag and Andreu Arasa. This Tuesday we will see each other again at the King’s Stadium, because that day the team from Łódź will face Wisła Kraków.
The beginning of Friday’s match by the Łódź team looked promising. It was clear to the naked eye who had to face the role of favourite and who would devote more attention to playing in low defence. ŁKS attacked the rival boldly and created the first chance to take the lead in the 5th minute, when after a cross by Antoni Młynarczyk, Stefan Feiertag hit the goalpost with a header.
In the latter part of the first half, the game evened out a bit, and it must be admitted that the opponents were able to surprise us with something interesting from time to time, like just before the fifteen minutes, when Cezary Demianiuk stood face to face with Aleksander Bobek, but fortunately for us he did not hit the target. The players from Łódź also did not help them to find the right rhythm due to the sometimes very jerky play, often interrupted by the referee, which was the result of both the slippery pitch and the fierce fight for the ball.

Fortunately, coach Jakub Dziółka’s players were patient and were rewarded for it towards the end of the first half. It was then that the players in white shirts started to play the ball on the left wing, and finally Piotr Głowacki took it up, making an excellent cross to the penalty area, where Stefan Feiertag opened the scoring with a very precise header.
As if the visitors didn’t have enough to worry about, before the break the referee punished Titas Milašiuś with a second yellow card and consequently a red card for a foul on Levent Gulen, so in the second half the team from Siedlce had to cope with ten men. And thanks to the players from ŁKS, they didn’t cope too well at the beginning, because just after the resumption of play Piotr Głowacki took the ball on the sideline, ran with it a few meters and again, as before the break, laid it on a silver platter, which Andreu Arasa took advantage of, increasing the lead.

The guests could have quickly scored a goal, because in the 60th minute the scorer of the second goal, according to the referee, fouled Cezary Demaniuk, and because the incident occurred in the Łódź penalty box, the referee indicated a penalty. And just as Łukasz Bomba saved us in the match with Chrobry, so in the clash with Pogoń Aleksander Bobek did his part, defending a shot from the eleventh meter of the visitors’ striker.
After that, the players from Łódź did not allow their opponents to spread their wings, they skillfully played the ball and even tried to score a third goal. The goal guarded by Mateusz Pruchniewski was shot by, among others, Michał Mokrzycki (just above the crossbar from a free kick), Husein Balić (after a great exchange of passes with Stefan Feiertag; here it is worth noting the goalkeeper’s excellent intervention), Piotr Głowacki (from the corner of the penalty spot), and the Austrian was close to luck at least twice more (including an ineffective follow-up shot by Kamil Dankowski from another free kick).
ŁKS players defeated Pogoń Siedlce 2-0, winning their fourth match in a row in the Betclic 1st League. On Tuesday (September 17), ŁKS players will face Wisła Kraków at the Król stadium, thus making up for the league arrears. Tickets are already on sale, so we strongly encourage you to buy them.
