According to a published report by Digital Foundry, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Is one of the few games that runs at 120fps on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
By default, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is played in up to 4K resolution and 60fps target. In it, the game offers support for ray-traced shadows on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. As noted in Digital Foundry, on the Sony console, in some cases, performance can drop to 45 frames per second, although restarting the game solves the problem. Apparently, this is some kind of bug that may be fixed in the future.
The Xbox Series X version proved to be the best in terms of performance – 60 frames per second hold almost always. Remarkably, the resolution ranges from 1800p to 2160p on both systems. The Xbox Series S version offers the same 60fps mode – and that’s the only option – but without ray tracing and at resolutions from 1200p to 1440p.
