A report issued by the website (focus2move), which specializes in global car markets, indicated that sales of the “Tesla Y” grew by 65.9% until last September, outperforming the “Toyota Corolla”, whose sales decreased by 2%, in addition to the decline in sales of the “Toyota Hilux”. » By 2.8%, during the same period last year.
The report, which was issued recently, revealed the best-selling vehicle categories around the world, and until September 2023, Tesla had sold more than 883,982 new Tesla Y vehicles, advancing 3 places this year over last year 2022.
In second place, and for the first time, was the Japanese Toyota Corolla, which has dominated the market for more than two decades, with sales from the beginning of the year until last September amounting to about 815,035 cars, with a slight decline of 2% over the same period last year. .
The first pickup in the halving
During nine months of 2023, the first pickup car, the Ford F-Series, entered the ranking of the best-selling vehicles in the world, which ranked third with sales of 672,117 cars, with an annual growth of 19.6%.
The report pointed out that the Toyota RAV 4 fell two places, to fourth place, after selling about 651,117 vehicles in this category, with a slight decline in sales, recording a loss of 1.5%, compared to the sales period last year.
The Honda CR-V also managed to come in fifth place, with sales reaching 493,767 new cars, with a growth of 8.1%, followed by the Toyota Camry, which announced the sale of about 463,836 vehicles, a decrease of 5.5%, and was succeeded by the “Hyundai Tucson”, after… The company sold 463,059 new cars in this category, a growth of 12.1% over the same period last year.
The American vehicle “Silverado” by Chevrolet came in eighth place, with sales reaching 453,640 new cars, with a growth of 4.9%, followed by “Toyota Hilux” with 435,834 vehicles, a decrease of 2.8%, and in tenth place was “Ram Truck”, with the company selling about 395,234 cars.
