Whether we seek to portray our journey in Miami From its magnificent beaches, to its art districts, to its fascinating skyscrapers and attractions, the city offers countless options. And among the best places to take photos is South Pointe.
Located at the edge of South Beach, within walking distance of the major hotels on Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue, the park offers stunning panoramic views of the coast, cruise ships departing from PortMiami, the downtown Miami skyline, and , from Fisher Island.
South Pointe has direct beach access, as well as walking trails, picnic and barbecue areas, benches, and an off-leash dog park. There’s also a mini water park perfect for cooling off on a warm day, along with a gym for an on-the-go workout.
Views of South Pointe
One of the best options in the park is to walk along its 20-foot-wide (6-meter) boardwalk and see Fisher Island across the water as yachts pass by. And continue or begin our journey to South Pointe Pier.
The 450-foot (130-meter) pier is a great sunset (or sunrise) selfie spot for tourists and locals alike, plus spotting kayakers, surfers, and water skiers. It has viewing stations, turtle-safe lighting, recycling bins for fishing lines, and places to cut bait and wash freshly caught fish.
The beach
The park’s beach has colorful lifeguard towers and you can rent umbrellas and beach chairs, although pets are not allowed on the beach.
There are also restrooms, outdoor showers and the South Pointe Cafe.
