Best Paralympic Athletes of 2023 Honored at Awards Ceremony in São Paulo

After a victorious year 2023 for Brazilian Paralympic sport, the awards ceremony for the best in the country took place on Thursday night, at the Tokio Marine Hall, in São Paulo. Presenters Karine Alves and Felipe Andreoli had the honor of hosting some of the biggest names in various Paralympic sports in Brazil, including managers, coaches and athletes.

The Aldo Miccolis award went to Daniel Dias, from swimming. The honor is awarded to people or institutions that contributed to the development of Paralympic sport. Daniel is one of the best-known and most successful figures in Brazilian sport, in addition to the Paralympics, and received the trophy on Thursday night.

Another important figure who stood out at Parapan 2023 was Douglas Matera, owner of eight gold medals in the competition. With that, he won the award for best athlete at Parapan.

Paralympic Personality: Marcos da Costa, Secretary of State for PcD Rights of São Paulo
Paralympic Memory: Sports Association for the Disabled (ADD)
Best Collective Coach: Valdecir Lopes (PC Football)
Best Individual Coach: Paulo Cabral (Weightlifting)
Loterias Caixa Prize (example Paralympic club): Praia Clube, from Uberlândia
New Athlete: Samuel Conceição
