The Hérault department is carrying out development work between Béziers and Bessan
The Hérault department continues the development work on departmental road 28 between Béziers and Bessan.
After the bypass works of the Domaine de Coussergues, carried out in 2020, in the commune of Montblanc, this other section known as the Butte des Poissonniers extends the road widening by more than 1.5 km to secure all journeys on this axis.
The 1.5-metre-wide paved shoulders or “multifunction strips” will in particular ensure the safety of cyclists.
A new retention basin will be built for the treatment of road rainwater before discharge into the natural environment.
These works will simplify and secure traffic, in particular for access to the VAOHE Ecopole in Bessan.
For the entire duration of the works, circulation on the RD 28 will be maintained on a temporary lane aligned with the works and with alternating traffic lights adapted to the progress of the works.
The speed on this section will be 80 km/h as on the neighboring sections of the RD28.
The Department continues its efforts to fund ongoing development operations to preserve and secure road assets on an ongoing basis.
Duration of work: 6 months
